An internal compliance review document, leaked this morning alongside the AFFECT_STREAM API spec, reveals that MetaCity CFO Davan Orel has operated a virtual real estate investment account under the alias @null_asset_7 since October 2024. The account holds 23 properties across Districts 3, 7, and 11 with a combined assessed value of 14.2 million RealCoin. MetaCity's employee conduct policy, Section 6.2, explicitly prohibits senior executives from holding undisclosed financial interests in platform-tradeable assets. Orel has been a member of the executive committee that sets virtual property tax rates, zoning policy, and infrastructure investment priorities since 2023.

MetaCity's most-followed couple — @RivenSolace (11.2M followers) and @KaelDrift (8.3M followers) — went live together at 8:00 PM EST for what their promotional posts had described as a 'three-year anniversary special.' At 8:22 PM, the stream ended. In the 22 minutes between those two timestamps, 4.2 million concurrent viewers watched the couple's relationship end in real time. Neither account has posted since the stream cut. A joint statement was published at 11:40 PM by an account identified only as 'Team RS/KD.' The MetaCity community has not recovered.

A 74-page API specification document labeled INTERNAL — PARTNER TIER ONLY was published at 4:00 AM EST by an anonymous account and has been verified as authentic by three independent security researchers. The document describes a product called AFFECT_STREAM — a real-time emotional state inference API available to approved advertising partners since May 2025. The API derives emotional state scores from behavioral signals in the MetaCity interface: typing speed, pause frequency, re-edit patterns, scroll behavior, and response latency in DMs. Partners could query a live emotional state endpoint for any user by account ID. No user consent mechanism is described anywhere in the 74 pages.

Patch 3.6.1, deployed at 7:00 AM EST, contained a physics coefficient error that inverted the gravity vector in District 4's simulation space. For 2 hours and 18 minutes, every object, avatar, and user-built structure in District 4 experienced upward gravitational pull rather than downward. At the time of the patch deployment, the Aurelius Gardens venue in District 4 was hosting a live wedding ceremony with 340 invited guests and a public viewer count of 12,000. The ceremony, the guests, the officiant, the wedding arch, the floral arrangements, the catering tables, and both individuals exchanging vows floated progressively upward and spent the majority of the event pressed against the district's skybox ceiling.
